In your living space, add a few fall colored pillows to your couches.  Teal is a really hot color this year.   A splash of color like teal with the traditional fall colors offers a unique and personal twist this season.

Another option is to sew two strips of grosgrain or other ribbon along the top and bottom of a placemat.  Repeat this for a second placemat. Then tie them together on one side, slide down over the top of the chair and then tie the bottom together.   This will only work if you have a chair that has openings across the back.

Finally, purchase all one color or coordinating colored standard pillow cases.   Slide the pillow case over the back of the chair.  Then add a decorative dish towel, napkin, or other decorative linen over the top that adds color and some contrast.  Secure both the pillowcase and decorative linen with a big bow, a simple ribbon, raffia, or whatever fits the ambiance you are creating.
