summer funSchool will soon be out for the summer and that got me wondering: what do moms like doing best with their kids?

I polled a few moms and here’s what ten of them had to say:

Our favorite is playing in the sprinklers. Even the teen will take the time to laugh & run through spraying water in the summer.

– Christie S.

Fishing, playing in the river, hiking, making ice cream, swimming, splash pads at the parks - anything with water!

– Leah D.

I have to say things with water too-water balloons (smile). Also, it is nice to just have quality time without the rush of a school schedule. We also love road trips.

 – Nicole K.

Crabbing on the pier with raw chicken necks and twine!

- My Real Life Parenting

I love taking my kids to the local splash pads! This will be my first summer as a SAHM, so I'm super excited!

– Jenny D.

My sisters and I plan 1 day a week for a field trip—usually Wednesday. We send a list of ideas to each other in late May and we vote on the destination. The places are always more on the historical/educational side (no water parks). Two places that were a huge hit for all: Salem, Mass (witch museum, trolley ride), Hammond Castle in Gloucester, Mass (very medieval). We end up with 8 new and interesting destinations each summer. This year the 1st field trip is the Freedom Trail in Boston! Also, the Duck Boat tour of Boston was a huge hit one summer.

– Helen N.

I love tubing down the river with my family. It's so relaxing and fun at the same time.

– Lora M.

Taking the kids to the beach, having lunch, building sand castles and playing in the water. We also like the Science Museum.

- Puddles Collection

Zoe usually ends up spending a lot of time at the pool.

– Lost Mommy Manual

We love outside water games with popsicles!

– Reading Friends
