Reviews & Giveaways Make a Comeback at Simply Cy-Fair
Cypress, TX — September 13, 2011 — SimplyCyFair.com is proud to announce that the review/giveaway component of their website is making a comeback.
Simply Cy-Fair is a free, comprehensive website that aims to be ‘simply the best resource for families in the Cy-Fair area.’ The site launched in April and immediately began giveaways, hoping to launch reviews soon after.
“We were hoping to showcase the wonderful businesses in the Cy-Fair area while also offering our readers something to gain,” explains publisher Angela Bickford. “However, with the site so young, there just wasn’t enough traffic built in yet to have these giveaways be successful to either party.”
In an effort to streamline the process for both businesses and readers, Simply Cy-Fair has now combined reviews and giveaways – so every giveaway item will be reviewed, and every review will have a giveaway attached to it.
“Businesses have been really supportive,” says Bickford. “We’ve got giveaways lined up through the end of the year, with one huge prize-pack being given away on January 1st.”
The first item up for grabs? The MyMemories software, which allows users to engage in digital scrapbooking, a hot trend. The first review and giveaway is going on now – and Bickford promises that every reader will gain something from entering. In fact, registered users gain one entry into every giveaway automatically just by being registered, which is free.
Upcoming reviews and giveaways include children’s books, parent seminars, educational software, a diaper cake, and more. And, gathering contributions for the big end of year giveaway is already underway. Businesses such as Painting with a Twist, Initials, Inc., Tupperware, Indigo Tea, The Work at Home Woman, and more have already committed to adding to the huge prize pack.
Bickford promises great exposure for participating businesses, with links, tweets, and other ways of spreading the word, and businesses who want to contribute are encouraged to contact Bickford through the website.
Visitors to the site are still able to easily navigate the numerous other resources provided. The site is intended for Cy-Fair community members, but anyone can benefit from and enjoy the various features such as giveaways, specials, daily informational blog posts, business listings, job posts, event listings, and more.
New Comprehensive Online Resource for Cy-Fair Families
Cypress, TX — April 20, 2011 — SimplyCyFair.com is proud to announce the launch of a free, comprehensive website that aims to be ‘simply the best resource for families in the Cy-Fair area.’
While it just launched at the beginning of April, local residents are already talking about Simply Cy-Fair. Cy-Fair resident Rochelle Peterson sent in an email before the site officially launched, sharing her excitement, “Congratulations on the website – I think it will be great for our area!”
Visitors to the site will be able to easily navigate the numerous resources provided by founders, long-time Cy-Fair residents, Craig and Angela Bickford. The site is intended for Cy-Fair community members, but anyone can benefit from and enjoy the various features such as giveaways, specials, daily informational blog posts, business listings, job posts, event listings, and more.
It is also a great place to advertise a local or internet business, since traffic to the site is already gaining in momentum and searches yield Simply Cy-Fair in the first or second page of results.
And that’s just what the Bickford’s had in mind. Angela Bickford, publisher of Simply Cy-Fair, says that she and her husband founded the website to offer a community-centered resource. “There are many great resource-type print and online magazines in our area, but we feel that our site offers an even deeper connection through our community-centered approach. We offer something new and unique, like the chance for residents to openly give their opinions through our forum and business listing feedback commentary.”
The community also has a part in developing the content of the site. A great example of this, says Angela, is the way the daily blog is run. “We don’t control the entire site. We have gathered community members who are as passionate about having a community resource as we are, and they do most of the blogging. We also don’t base our content on who is advertising.” The Bickford’s feel passionate about that particular selling point because they want the readers to drive the content, not the advertising.
Contributors include Cy-Fair Hospital, local author Chrissy Bernal, interior designer Diana Saufley of 3D Interiors/Diana Saufley Designs, Deals guru April Pearson, who also blogs at Deals That Make Cents, and internationally known education and parenting expert, Shara Lawrence-Weiss, of Mommy Perks.
In the coming months, Simply Cy-Fair hopes to become an online presence that reflects the size and scope of the Cy-Fair area. Visitors to the site are encouraged to register, which is free, so that they can participate in the forum and interact with other residents.
