I’m always seeking new ways to reuse and recycle products from around home. If my kids can turn these items into crafts, even better.

Lately I’ve stumbled upon numerous blog posts demonstrating how to re-use toilet paper rolls in craft projects. From the simple to the elegant and elaborate, these crafty moms and teachers are something to reckon with!

Our nanny and I chatted a bit about how to use the toilet rolls I have been saving up. We decided to use a few of them to create hearts. Rather than stop there, I wanted my kids to write on them (or tell us what to write) and to think about something (or someone) they love. They painted the pieces purple and then glued them onto paper hearts. We then wrote things-we-love and hung the hearts from the kitchen table light as a conversation starter during dinner time.
